Privacy Policy
We care about your personal videos, voice, and creative work. This policy explains how Lumivaro collects, uses, stores, and deletes information.
1. Who we are
Lumivaro helps you write, record, arrange, and export audio description for your own short videos. The app does not automatically recognize scenes, does not rate or certify accessibility quality, and does not sell personal information.
2. On-device data (default)
The following stays in your app sandbox by default:
- Nickname, preset avatar, and a local copy of a custom avatar
- Projects, cues, protected ranges, review marks, practice progress, and phrase bank
- Source-video copies, narration takes, exported videos and transcripts, local backup packages
Uninstalling the app or deleting the local identity clears sandbox data. Copies already saved to Photos, backed up elsewhere, or shared out must be managed in those locations.
3. System permission prompts
Lumivaro asks for system permissions only when you trigger the matching feature. The system dialog text matches the wording below. You may refuse a permission and still use alternate paths for some features.
- Photo Library (read)
System prompt: “Allow choosing a personal video for audio description and selecting an avatar photo.”
Use: import a source video or pick a custom avatar. Shown when you choose a Photos video or an avatar from the library. - Photo Library (add)
System prompt: “Allow saving the described video back to Photos.”
Use: write an exported described video into Photos. Shown when you choose Save to Photos during export. - Camera
System prompt: “Allow camera access to capture a new video for audio description.”
Use: capture a new source video. Shown when you choose Camera while creating a project. - Microphone
System prompt: “Allow microphone access to record your own audio description.”
Use: record narration takes. Shown when you start recording in cue editing.
If you refuse: without Photos/Camera you can still create a blank project and write text first; without Microphone you can still save text and record later; if Save to Photos fails, use the system share sheet.
We do not request Contacts, Location, Tracking, Bluetooth, background location, or age-related permissions, and we do not use those for advertising.
4. Device account and online sync
You may sign in to a device account that does not require a phone number or email. The app uses a random device identity stored in the Keychain to obtain a login token and sync a structured workspace through the open platform’s generic CRUD, including:
- Nickname and preset avatar name
- A public URL for a custom avatar after signed direct upload to object storage (signed upload URLs and access keys are never stored)
- Project text structure, cues, protected ranges, review state, practice progress, and phrase bank
- A public URL for source video after signed direct upload (≤50MB per file; larger files are compressed first)
Not uploaded: narration take files, exported films, and local backup packages. After restore, re-record takes if needed.
5. Sign-out and account deletion
- Sign-out: clears the local login token and stops automatic sync. Local projects, device identity, and the online workspace remain.
- Delete device account: deletes every online workspace record for that identity; only after success does the app clear device identity and local sandbox data. If online deletion fails, local data is kept so you can retry.
The platform contract does not provide an API to delete an empty auth subject (login identity row only). Historical objects in object storage also have no server-side delete API.
6. Sharing and third parties
When you use system share or Save to Photos, content follows the rules of the system and the destination app. Aside from the open-platform services required for device-account sync, we do not sell your personal information to third parties for ads or profiling.
7. Children and content boundaries
Only process video and audio you have the right to use. Do not upload or share content that infringes others’ rights or breaks the law.
8. Updates and contact
We may update this policy. Material changes will be surfaced through the in-app policy links or the support page. For questions, use Help & Support in the app.
